Ruby Group are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join a fast-growing Transport/Logistics company located in Central London. Our client has seen consistent levels of growth during the pandemic, more recently plan to triple in size. This is a newly created position reporting into the finance manager. Your responsibilities will be to assist with the production of monthly management accounts, including departmental Profit and Loss and Balance sheet accounts. Undertake the month end close process, including reconciliation of control accounts. You will provide accurate and timely reporting of monthly management information. Preparing sand posting journals, accruals, and prepayments when necessary. Prepare and update departmental forecasts. Reporting variance analysis against actuals and budgets. Undertake KPI/margin analysis to drive efficiencies and identify opportunities to increase revenue and reduce costs across all departments. Leading and coordinating the annual budgeting process. Forecast, review the cashflow management process. Manage preparation of audit file to ensure post balance sheet events and any provisions are accounted for prior to commencement of audit work. Liaise with company auditors to ensure smooth workflow of the audit assignment and signed financial statements are available for filing and circulation as required. Prepare quarterly VAT returns, implement systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. You will also assist the finance manager with ad hoc projects and additional duties as necessary.
The Ideal Applicant will be educated to degree level and be working towards ACCA, CIMA, or AAT. You must be at least part qualified level having gained at least two year’s experience working in Finance, ideally supporting a finance manager. Candidates that have used Sage will have an advantage. Excellent communication skills and the ability to priorities workloads is essential. Excel to an intermediate level is required. Our client will offer full study support and offer training in areas you may not have experience in. The financial Controller has a strong believe in developing the part qualified team. As a result, this position will suit candidate looking to become a fully qualified ACCA or CIMA finance professional. This is a hybrid working role 2 days in the office a week located in the central London head office.
